Newcastle University signed a partnership agreement with the BBC - the British Broadcasting Corporation - which is now supporting our teaching and the development of our students in a number of ways.

The BBC is one of the worlds most highly regarded media organisations, it is the worlds largest broadcasting corporation, and its mission is to enrich peoples lives with programmes that inform, educate and entertain - and it has always taken very seriously its mission to educate.

Students on our Masters programmes in Media and Journalism and International Multi-Media Journalism will now be able to benefit from workshops and master-classes run by senior BBC journalists.

BBC executives act as consultants on the development of vocational areas of our programme content, helping us to keep our teaching and learning at the forefront of professional practice.

And there will be opportunities for students to undertake work placements with the BBC in Newcastle and Manchester - but these places are limited and competition for them is high.
